Siblings

We have so many different dynamics with the five kids, two adults and several pets in our home. These two have a very special relationship. They are my two youngest and even though they are 6 years a part they enjoy calling each other "best friend". Before Ella was born Jonah felt a little like the odd man out. His three older siblings, my twins and their older brother, were very close in age and have always been very tight with each other. They have tried to include Jonah, but because of the age difference it hasn't always worked. When Ella came along Jonah was having a year at home for school. This worked out perfectly. He really took on his role of big brother quite seriously and was an incredible help to me. He loved playing with his baby sister and was always eager to feed her of run and get something I needed related to Ella. When Ella was about 6 mths old Jonah took a special trip with my husband and was gone for 10 days. When they returned, Ella and I met them at the airport. Jonah's special love for Ella was quite exposed when he tearfully peeked in the car at her and replied" she changed while I was gone". He was so sad that he had missed those mere 10 days with her and apparently she seemed so much more grown up when he returned. It was a sweet moment that I remind of him of on days when he is occasionally annoyed with her now.

Although the dynamics have changed,as they have grown, they still share a closeness that is very sweet. I hope it will continue throughout their lifetime! Best Friends.
