Pruned Apple Tree

Barney pruned this tree so far that there is barely a branch left for leaves. He knows what he is doing and he says it is fine. The tree will be healthier now. I don't see how it will produce apples, but it didn't produce any last season either. The year before there were so may apples that the branches broke. With daddy gone there was nobody to thin the fruit.

I have been coughing since I returned from the east coast, so my normal routine is disrupted. Instead of rising before dawn and heading to the gym before work, I have watched the morning from the house and had a leisurely breakfast. The light and spring colors are beautiful. There is an upside to being sick, I guess. I wish I could travel without catching a cold!
