Yesterday's gone (or) Carpe Diem.......

Yesterday, this prickly pear cactus blossom was fully open and as beautifully yellow as the sun. "Tomorrow," I thought, as I'd already taken several photos of the White Ibis (see yesterday's blip) This morning, I trot to where the cactus is and..... "Oh dear! The miniature suns have collapsed."

Took some photos of the defunct flowers anyway, came back and fiddled a bit with cropping, and suddenly all is not lost! I'm loving the delicate variety of colors in this, and the sheen on the petals........

Two lessons learned:

1) Snap it when you see it!
2) Even unlikely photos can turn into a blip.....
