Neuschwanstein

Yeah, yeah.. I know the castle isn't really medieval and Ludwig II was pretty much a nutcase (I mean seriously... who puts a cave in a castle??)...

but the alps are incredible, and even a faked medieval castle set against them is absolutely breathtaking. The weather was really nice, too.. 45 and sunny, snow melting off the trees, fresh mountain air...

definitely a saturday well spent. If you ever go, though, enjoy the view from outside and don't bother paying the 10 euro to go inside. The Disney castle was build less than 100 years after it.. so go to the rhine and see some real castles.
