An Old Airman's Life

A Half a Yard of Air

As some of you may know, I had surgery on June 30th. The docs said it would be 2.5 hours and then off to home. I would be back on my bike on July 16th in time for a couple neat rides. Well they were wrong. They broke my nose in places that I didn't even know I had nose. I got a big welt on the back of head. Two black eyes, swollen jowls, and a hole in my chest where they took out some cartilage to back fill my nose. I have to HAVE my glasses to see. When you have a nose brace - yes I said nose brace - it makes wearing glasses difficult if not impossible. Today I am nearing normal. I am sitting on my chair, with a computer on my lap. No pint by my side yet. But I do have my half a yard glass standing empty in the window next to my bed. A half a yard of air is NOT the same a half a yard of ale, but it will have to do. For now.

And I have had some great friends come by with vegan food for me to eat. Non alcoholic beer for me to drink. And left lots of prayers and good wishes.
