Drove up north today to pick up my truck. It got the workover, new tranny, clutch, rear brakes, rear axle bearing and seal. I had them check over the rest of the drivetrain while they were getting dirty with it. I knew there were some other things that needed looking after and figured they might as well get that done while they had the guts strewn all over the shop floor. It cost me an arm and nearly half a leg, but I might now get another 100K out of the beast. It's got 207K+ on the odometer now (I blipped the 200K turnover a while back), so I'm expecting more decay. But, if I can keep it to less than $3K per year it's still less expensive than buying a new rig.

On the way up we passed this donkey (not mule) ranch and I had to stop and snap a few shots of them grazing on a green hillside.
