Ciabatta

Inspired to do some cooking by Dolcezza's recent food blips, I have decided to have a go at making bread. I've never really tried to bake stuff before so this is a first for me.

The blip is the sponge bit of the Ciabatta, which I made this evening before heading off to the rugby. It now needs to sit for at least 12 hours before I can make the rest of the dough. I've never cooked anything that requires this much patience. Just making the sponge was hard work, I'm considering getting a mixer with a dough hook for the next bit. Or I'll end up with forearms like Popeye, well one forearm like Popeye anyway, so that'll look a bit dodgy.
