Target Practice

Today was the Royal Company of Archers annual promenade and archery display on the Meadows. They pass by the back of my work every year and normally we go to have a wee look - this year I wanted to get bows and arrows and take shots at them myself because they have done this bringing 160 years of tradition and the city's first bowling club to an end.

One of my good friends has invested a massive amount of his time and dedication to this club (as have many other of the members) and it's very sad to see it go, just so the Royal Archers can make a quick buck by building yet more student flats.

Nice to see the Monarchy caring about Scottish history and traditions, I have to wonder if this would be allowed to happen in London.
