Hooligan, (Italian Grey)

Today ended bad.

While testing a filter, I bipped Hooligan (11kgs), lazily basking in the sun.

This afternoon, he was badly hurt when he and our other dog, a Great Dane(67kgs) 'misunderstood' each other when a fracas ensued while barking at someone passing in the street.
Hooligan has the attitude of a Goliath and thinks that he is the alfa male - but unfortunately the Great Dane is not only 'Goliath' in size and strenght - he IS the alfa male ...
To make a long story short - Hooligan will be having surgery tomorrow on a badly dislocated shoulder which could not manually be coaxed back into position. It seems that torn ligaments/muscles might be involved. Bad as it is, we are greatly relieved that his back is intact, as this could so easily have been damaged.
Apart from this, his right eye will also be removed, as it has been giving problems after a long standing (unknown) injury ...

We have known Hooligan since he was a pup, he is 10 years now, and has been staying with us (6 months) since his family left for Oz. We all love this doggy very very much and hope and pray for his recovery.
