After what seems like an eternity of absence football has once more returned. The pain of having to wait an extra day to watch Newcastle play on Sunday rather than Saturday was more than relieved by the fact that Man U struggled to a 1-1 draw with, of course, the best team in the premiership!

Cask and Barrel, Broughton Street Domestic and Football, the next 7 months look rosie all of a sudden. And don't tell my family or friends but I think Sunderland under Roy Keane may stand a chance of pipping Newcastle at the post and achieving a higher finishing position than the Geordies this year...
