Winding down

Carl's Kino pulled out the stops with a showing of Alfred Hitchcock's Rope before I left for home, considerably later than intended. I stopped off in town for a bite to eat in Fitzers restaurant on Dawson Street. The weather was unpleasant yet again, and there was plenty of evidence of umbrellas which had got away from their owners and other victims of the wind and rain. At least the food was reasonably good, and I was snug and warm in the restaurant -- which is more than can be said for this unfortunate bicycle outside.

Back home after the rush-hour traffic calmed down, I gradually unwound after the weekend, though the unwinding was interrupted by an unanticipated request for a job to be done as a quick favour which was needed for Thursday. I somehow managed to make a start around 9.00 pm. The next few days were set to be busy ones.
