Veterans Memorial

Monday
I took this when I was out this morning going to the post office and the library. This is the Blue Ash Bicentennial Veterans Memorial Park. The memorial consists of eleven life-size sculptures, arranged in a circle, representative of 11 wars: the American Revolution, the War of 1812, Mexican War, Civil War, Spanish-American War, World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, and Persian Gulf War. Behind each sculpture is a 20-foot bronze-colored flagpole flying the flag from that era. It is surrounded by beautiful, colourful plantings, and is adjacent to Towne Square, which is home to various events in the community (see August 22 entry)and the bell tower (see Sep 1st).

I stayed in the rest of the day as we were expecting the delivery of a new computer. We were having problems with the video card on our old one, and Roger decided rather than putting any more money into it, it was time to update and get one with a faster processer, amongst other things. It was a beautiful morning, but clouded over later in the day and we are supposed to get some rain, but I dont think its arrived yet.
