*sighs happily*

i have waxed lyrical about the wondrous neil gaiman (who also blogs and offers short stories and other wonders here). tonight he was in edinburgh, reading from 'the graveyard book' which is, like 'the jungle book', from which it sorta kinda takes its basic template, both a children's book and an adults' book. you might note from the title that NG's work is set in a graveyard, rather than RK's jungle, but still, it's sorta kinda like it - boy grows up in strange environment and learns cool things along the way.

he also answered audience questions - if you want to scare him, turn up on his doorstep with a clipboard:
'neil gaiman?'
'yes'
'we're onto you'
'oh?'
'says here "makes stuff up and writes it down".'
'yes'
'well, it's time to get a proper job, mate'

dear neil, if you're reading, please don't ever get a 'proper' job! and thanks for signing despite the only-just-healed finger, it means a lot to your fans that you do these things.
