My breakdown yesterday was a result of lameness on the part of my canon camera. You apparently can't use it to transfer nikon photos, so the whole time I was trying to pull the photos off the card it turned out I was looking at the wrong one. I went to the mediatech office today for help and discovered that using a cardreader - with the right card - is the way to go. That whole paragraph didn't make sense. Bottom line: I got my images off the card.
