Deserted...

Through hot arid desert he continued on. His will to live only dwarfed by his thirst as he toils through one of the most inhospitable environments known to man. His memory now failing as the dehydration sapps his moisture, his life, his very being.

"Keep travelling west, keep travelling west. Follow the sun, follow the sun." Repetition flowing through his mind, synapses peppering his mind treading a thinline on the tightrope of his continually withering sanity.

This just reminded me of a wee story...

It is the story of a man lost in desert for weeks. He was gasping for water and chanced upon what looked like a market. Thinking it was a mirage, he pressed forward to find that it was indeed real.

He went up to the first stall. "Water, please, do you have any water?". "Sorry mate, we only stock tinned fruit salad, you might want to try one of the other vendors."

He finds a second stall, again, "Water, please, do you have any water?". Denied again, "Sorry, you do look like you need it, but I'm afraid we only stock jelly. Got it in a load of flavours mind you, best selection in the desert."

He moves desparately to the next stall, "Water, pleeeaaaase, I need water!", "Sorry pal, I've only got sherry soaked sponge fingers."

Getting curious inspite of his thirst, he asks the vendor. "This is a bit of an odd market, what's up with it?"

"It is a Trifle Bazzaar (trifle bizarre)!!!"

This is the unveiling of Project Cacti which is a wee idea EcoDad (who documented the covert mission) and myself have been mulling over for a few months. It's our wee contribution to corporate art/vegetation.

We've left the wee man to roam the desert and hopefully, if no-one of significance or botheredness caught us, he'll stay on display for a wee bit. If you are in the Edinburgh area and are passing Standard Life House on Lothian Road, there is a tunnel that goes under the main reception entrance. Our man is lost between the rotating doors on the right hand side. Please drop by and offer him some support.
