Saturday 28 April 2007: An afternoon with Julia
A very contrasty day full of interesting events
The day started at 12:30 am when I took my first shot at P7 Welcome Party in the campus. Met many friends there. And can you imagine a formal portrait session in the party??? Though I took some party pictures too, I mainly concentrated on portraits (hahahahaha....I am addicted to that. I know that) even in the party atmosphere. Thanks to oleG who brought people to the backstage, I photographed them in tungsten lighting. Took portraits of 26 people. Unfortunately had to stop considering extremely poor lighting and that many people were drunk and sweating due to the high temperature inside the party area. Unsuccessful in portraits, tried to dance with the help of friends. Failed miserably in that too :-( Left the party at 3:15am and got a calm sleep.
At 1 pm met Julia at Domplatz. It was a beautiful day. Sunny and pleasantly warm. We went to Stadtpark and spent most of the time near the lake. Talking, talking and talking. About nature, beliefs, photography, studies etc. etc. Hardly missed any topic. The best moment was driving oar boat for one hour. The greenery, the water, the sun leaking through the trees and the whole setting was just too great. It was the first time I was in stadtpark and it's been lately that I am discovering new places in Magdeburg. Thank you Julia. Afternoon got a perfect finish with a pizza meal we went to eat. Upon returning realized that we had spent 4 and half hours together. Unbelievable!!!
On the way back to home, I was feeling very lazy but was spotted by Cruseau who invited me to join to a punk gathering. It was going to happen in the same place, Stadtpark. Couldn't resist the offer and went with him. Statdpark looked a completely different place now. There I saw nearly 100 punks gathered in small groups and having fun with each other. Some extreme jokes among them as usual. Made some new friends there. Took some pictures. Most of the time the camera was given to Curseau who was proud enough to photograph his punk friends. After that we left together to Hasselbachplatz where I took some pictures of Creuseau and his 13 years old girl friend.
Reached home with 450 pictures in the CF card.
