it's very sociable, this clematis - if you go near it wraps you in its fronds and i feel sure if you stood still long enough you'd be part of the plant in a while...

dentist this morning :-( but all-clear :-) then a wander in town - not something i often do in alnwick, being utterly disillusioned with the place for its inability to provide anything useful. *however...* a stack of tomes from the bookshop, nice and heavy to carry, was just the cue i needed to end up with a stack of stuff (cheap plants from the florist, those much-needed mouse traps, two pairs of jeans, also much-needed, modem cable) that weighed a ton and of course had to be carried up to the bus station then along the village home from the bus stop. ah well, i missed the rain showers and caught the sunshine, so not too bad! and most of all: a day off for the muscles to recover...
