Flightpath

I can't believe it, the sun is out this evening and it's warm!

I stopped working at 6:30 and had a little trundle down to the pond, to find that there were lots of fluffy baby duckies furtling about in the undergrowth whilst remaining close to their very protective parents. When I approached, they all scuttled into the water and sodded off over to the other side of the pond.

However, swan week was last week, so the pictures I did take of the fluffy baby duckies will not be published.

I turned my camera skywards to illustrate the fact that the duckpond is directly underneath the flightpath to Manchester Airport - and this is what they have to put up with all day. When they land two miles or so away, (the planes, not the ducks), there is a load roar as the turbines are thrown into reverse, then the backwash ricochettes off the walls and roofs of the buildings surrounding the pond.

I love it, me. But I wouldn't want to live here.
