Scenic Georgia #5: Anna Ruby Falls

Anna Ruby Falls is a nice double-waterfall in the national forest near Helen, Georgia. It's easy to reach, at the end of a fairly short hike, so it's usually pretty crowded.

Case in point - today it was overrun by rude children on a day-trip with their equally rude parents. Kids and adults running around yammering to each other (barely even noticing the falls) kind of ruins the quiet and solitude of nature.

Oh, well.

By the way, if you ever go, try not to drive through Helen - it's a pseudo-Bavarian tourist-trap of a town, with far too many tourists and far too few roads. It literally took me 45 minutes to drive about three blocks through the center of town, before finally making my escape out the other side.

In case you're wondering, I haven't actually posted Scenic Georgia 1-4 yet - they're back-blips, and I haven't gotten around to them. About a month ago, I decided I would go someplace every Saturday, to get me out of my box in the city. Unfortunately, I always get back too late to post that night....
