What's this?

Well, basically, that's it: what is this? After the combine is done with it it's very black, so obviously the seeds are the things we're after. But i couldn't figure out what it was.

This little walk we did ended up with us following some 'line' on the gps that might have been a road.. but it wasn't for very long. This got us into a forest that was so dense that even with GPS we were walking in circles sometimes to actually find a route. That means ticks and bleeding legs and all. Very smart.

But we survived
