Portrait of a 'Spanish Girl' (part 1)
Me and the Senorita set out with 'this painting by Gerald Kelly'
in mind, I thought her resemblance to this beautiful painting was remarkable.
This was our first attempt, we intend to try this again, she wants to have her fringe cut & to fetch a shawl next time.
I appreciate any comments or constructive criticisms, but be kind to my muse.

Ah, that's better! Super pose, lighting and treatment. Can you tell me how you did this? I'd love to try it, being in Spain as I am... :-)
~ Annie

Incredible
its like the same picture only this one is real life
Stunning
5/5
~ Madz
Indeed a striking resemblance. Excellent piece of work.
~ dogenzenji

Your muse is beautiful and this is awesome. The ageing of the image works very well indeed.
~ jrc313

I think you've done a really nice job here the only criticism I would make is the presence of the zip which a bit incongruous but other than that minor point I really like it. Big is really good!
~ G

This is stunning. Great job on the painting but an amazing image in its own right!
~ impoftheyard

well done....great idea too
~ tp
I agree with Imp, this is a great shot in its own right :-)
~ sleepyduck

@Annie; it's an old factory recepie of grease on filters; some photoshop jiggery pokery, then just add a beautiful spanish girl to serve.
@Madz, thankyou so much for that 5
(it made my day to get a 5 again)
@jrc313, thankyou & yes she is.
@G - you are spot on about the zip, next time she will be wearing a more traditional shawl.
~ chemicalfactory

@imp & sleepyduck, thankyou both for that. very kind.
~ chemicalfactory

ah...here we are...
inspired and skillful
a vintage factory shot with a new twist, the lovely muse..
and an excellent theme- the painting
This is so beautiful
I can't wait to see her again with the shawl in place just for the paintings sake but as others have said this is a striking and stand alone image.
5/5 from me and more if I could.
Me encanta!
~ etherghost

it's a great pose/expression by C. I agree about the zip. great lighting. I like the picture cropped just below the neckline.
the whole thing has a simon larbalestier feel to it.
~ shakesmyteeth
Excellent "version", great treatment!
~ brainfreeze
She is beautiful and so is your photo. I love what you are doing
here . . . recreating art, but in doing so, making your own new art. The comments you have received are quite wonderful too. Tell her not to cut the fringe too short; she has a beautiful forehead. Thanks for sharing. Rosie, aka
~ Carol

Just a bit o' portrait nonsense - to catch that special light from the painting - take the picture closer to sunset, try to find a spot where the lighting strikes her a bit more from your right - and use a reflector! if you're DIYing it, bring a roll of aluminum foil or a bright white sheet and tack it up/have someone hold it perpendicular to the wall - snug up against it...the modeling in the painting is very clearly studio light but I LOVE faking that look.
Good Luck!

stunning blip!
~ queenie
Beautiful image.
Perhaps a softer light on the face and neck though you probably wouldn't get that gorgeous shadow! The shawl will be ace and I agree with Carol that her forehead is beautiful & the fringe is ok as it is.
~ idea
Striking resemblance, your muse is beautiful. I look forward to more fun attempts. Let them come.
~ minerva
There are certain blippers who take their work just that bit further. I had gone through your recent blips just a few days ago and found them all to be fascinating and rank you in that category.
Didn't comment as I often don't have the time but thought I had better thank you for your comments and let you know you have another fan who really admires your work.
I guess I had better subscribe so that I don't miss any more.
Thanks
~ richard

I just like to say thankyou for all these wonderful comments so far, I am really touched by them & appreciate all your words which inspire me to move forward and try new things;
thankyou for all the tips and tricks which I will endevour to try on the next 'photo shoot' !! Thankyou.
~ chemicalfactory

I like what you've done here but also I have to agree with those before me that this is a very strong image in it's own right.
The waterfall was 3/10 of a second, hand held and supported on a fence railing.
~ andmoff

Very honestly, she is absolutely beautiful! And the mood for the shot suits her face, her expression... This is just lovely.
~ farsidehues

i'll send you a slide mount in the infernal post on the condition that you show me your PS tricks ???
~ shakesmyteeth
What a great idea for a blip - I bet you both had fun with it!
~ Lallybroch

Uncanny similarities here. Very nicely composed. Great work.
~ Scobes

I have to disagree with G on this one as the first zip-fasteners arrived around 1906 which could easily fit-in with the aging process on this (very nice) shot.
I really love it and would only humbly suggest a little film grain to ease the image into the photographic plate effect you've got going-on
~ davejournal

I think it will look even better with a shawl instead of the jacket.
Still a superb image though and thanks for your congrats on
my 400th blip!
~ martrex
I love the way she is looking out of the frame and the composition is very dynamic, but more subtle than I normally manage ... and I love your spilt chemical inspired processing too.
~ 42

nicely done!! love the subject, the pose, the treatment...all of it.
~ distractedhausfrau

this is intense. 5 stars
~ stingdingsbook
Well, as you correctly observed, it is definitely not just you. :) Thanks, for the b'day wish.
~ farsidehues

Absolutely stunning - such a similarity - just beautiful.
~ KathGordon

I can only agree with everything that's bee said before me. This is a terrific image. 5/5
~ hpx

Fantastic! Thanks for you comment, too.
~ Leannespics
A Cracking masterpiece! Belonging to the most inovative photography on blip!
~ Sfinx

It is a faithful reconstruction and very successful for a first attempt. Definitely needs a bit of reflector in there to kill some of the harder shadows. But I can't wait to see where you take this next...
