Apple's Simplicity

In this day and age, it is easy to define who you are through the products and services you use. By associating with a particular product, you show that you approve of the item and that you endorse its name. You may not associate with the item purposefully, but indirectly you take on the characteristics of the product. To illustrate this thought, take for example an Apple computer. Apple's designs on their products demonstrate simplicity, ease of use, modernity, and to an extent an artsy attitude. Users who purchase an Apple computer reveal that they enjoy simplicity, user-friendliness, and cool modern looking technology.

Some might say that it is sad that we now have to express ourselves with the things we buy in order to express our individuality and style because in earlier centuries people had to make their own style themselves. It may be sad, but things are changing and we have to rely on each other to get things accomplished. We can't sit at home all day sewing our own clothes or building our own houses. People in today's society want things instantly and for most people we can't make everything we own. We just don't have the skills.

I guess what I'm trying to justify is our dependance on how we rely on material goods to express who we are as people and individuals. What we buy, whether it be cars, houses, technology, or things for a favorite hobby, reveal who we are as people.

Therefore, through this photo you can deduce that I too like simplicity from Apple's products. My Apple computer makes my life easy. I don't have to worry about much going wrong and I do love the overall design of Apple's products. Big bulky products and things that always have problems just makes life so much more difficult.
