No Indication

What is it with some drivers?

I followed a driver today, for around ten miles or so on non-motorway roads and across numerous roundabouts, and not once did the indicator light come on to give any other driver a clue as to where they were going. That was in addition to approaching roundabouts with the 'pick a lane, any lane' style of driving that further confused/terrified other road users.

And it wasn't just that one driver, there seems to be more and more people out there that see the common courtesy of flicking the little indicator stalk left or right as either optional or just too much like hard work. Even spotted a Police car at a junction with no clue as to what direction they were coming out in.

It's especially frustrating at one roundabout I have to use daily, a large one that a lot of vehicles fly round at 30mph plus. There's always a lot of traffic there and if people on the roundabout gave some sort of a clue to those waiting to enter what exit they were going to take, I'm sure the whole mass of traffic would move a lot smoother.

Can't be that hard surely, or have I missed some road traffic initiative that has made flashing these wee orange lights ecologically unsound and therefore optional?

Talking of no indication...

I was really, really hoping that the model Fiat 500 above wasn't ever going to be blipped again, but it's now 95 days since the order was placed, 24 days since we were told that the delivery was imminent, and 15 days since being updated that the car had been delivered to 'somewhere' in the UK.

In that time, the mother-in-law had ordered her Ford Fiesta (five weeks after our order was placed) - built to order too, she wanted an automatic. She took delivery of that nearly a fortnight ago and had nothing but nice things to say about the sales staff - they even organised a decent registration for her at no extra cost - 'MRY' suffix as her name is Mary.

Ah well, once bitten, twice shy.

Edit: This was blipped today on the very roundabout I wrote about above. Scary.
