what used to be a lake..

Back to Schooley's Mountain Park. I was deejay tonight at my sister's 13th birthday party (which happened to be held at the lodge in the park) and I figured before 100 screaming hormonal preteens descended upon us I'd take a nice stroll around the park. They completely drained this lake and are planning on treating the soil to get rid of bacteria and chemicals from the now-defunct sewage treatment nearby. Soon we'll be able to swim in it again, but until then, they've constructed a bypass so that the stream that once fed the lake is now simply a relatively long length of industrial plastic piping.
