Winter sun, 2pm

I resolve not to drink espresso at 11pm, even if I convince myself adding milk and cocoa will dilute the caffeine. Didn't sleep a wink last night but that was also the excitement of knowing, actually getting it, that this dissertation is on the same road I've been traveling for a long time now. Flicked on the TV just as Bono was looking all serious and quoting Nietzsche on Elvis Costello's interviewey music show: "Nothing great happens without a long obedience in the same direction."
