Tuesday 15 December 2009: Abstract - sunlight on the stairs
Only 3 degrees C when I went out at 11 a.m. this morning. It had been colder earlier, maybe down to freezing during the night. I took photos of plants and flowers in the garden - the roses are still blooming - and some of these may appear on my blog later. The light on the walls and roofs seemed so bright but I wasn't happy with any of the photos I took. The sun's rays fall at such a slant at this time of the year that it's difficult to catch the effect of light and shadow I was looking for.
Back at home, this rather grainy shot of the low afternoon sun shining through to the stairwell looked best to me.

Rather nice angles, shapes and colours.. I would never have guessed it was stairs! Garden Bloggers Bloomday, hmm not much point me doing that, even though I'd completely forgotten about it.

I was trying to work out what it was! Lovely light and shadows.

Lovely light peeping through to make great shadows.

I like this a lot. For some reason this sort of thing always makes me stop and look. Glad you blipped it!

Love the lines and the accents the light makes. I wouldn't have guessed stairs either - makes a great abstract!

I like the shapes of sunlight among the formal lines and angles.
