Treasure Desk

This is my new old desk. Jim was very lovely and drove all the way to Portsmouth to pick it up for me. I wanted a bureau with a lift down lid. There is one in Ikea, but that was expensive and soulless. There was one in Southampton that was technically better.. cheaper, more storage, keys not lost... but I did not love it. I loved this one. I was very happy to win the auction.

One day soon the nut will inherit my room, which I love because it has everything I need for a studio, good light warmth and a wipe clean floor and plenty of room for storing things away from small hands (and larger, hairier ones) but I can't keep it. And I won't have my private space any more but I will have my little desk and I will fill it full of very valuable bones and trinkets and I will lift down the flap and write in my journal in a ladylike manner before closing my special world to prying eyes (and hands) and we will be best friends.
