the tower, the tower

A bird of some kind sits on the parapet of the little walkway between the two southernmost towers at the Nativity end of the Sagrada Familia. This picture is very likely to change when I find one which properly conveys the massiveness of the place. The good news is that a couple of bits of construction look very much like a potential base for the proposed 196m central tower.
Slightly annoyed that it wasn't possible to walk up any of the towers - an additional 2 euros are required for the upward journey by lift at either end. Whilst the newer steps at the west end are arguably too narrow to allow people to pass each other unless one of them is slim/agile enough to squeeze into a nook the east staircases seemed perfectly wide enough and indeed were an authorised method of ascent three years ago. Hopefully they'll use the extra money to speed up the construction.
