Dr. Livingstone, I presume?

I seem to remember seeing this on Blip before but maybe not the full work. I was passing close-by and stopped briefly to take the picture. Unfortunately it was dull and overcast so the blue background isn't natural.

In 1844 David Livingstone and men from Mabotsa in South Africa were hunting lions which had killed a woman from the village. Livingstone shot one of the lions which then attacked him but suddenly dropped dead. Livingstone was lucky to survive, but his arm was so badly injured he never regained full use of it.

"He shook me as a terrier does a rat." David Livingstone.

The original statue was designed and modelled in wax by Ray Harryhausen, from which sculptor Gareth Knowles developed this monumental Bronze.
