Ducklings

Sorry. Yes, I realise that this is the ornithological equivalent of the much-derided K*tt*n-blip. Yes, they are impossibly cute and fluffy. Well, I actually don't care! So there!

I was worried about the six little mallards (Anas platyrhyncos) since I hadn't spotted them since the weekend. The banks of the Water of Leith are infested with feral mink, which would make short work of these guys if their parents were inexperienced. Happily, spotted them today, bobbing about like corks :)
