Monday 17 May 2010: All the world's a stage
Ta-daa! Job done.
Well, nearly. I still have a bag or two of Highland River pebbles to scatter.
As with all my finest creations, it appears clean, simple and minimal on the surface. But lurking just beneath are a range of practical wonders -- in this case, 915 litres of waterproof storage and Bella's sandpit -- all of which will be the subject of future blips. And there's room for expansion. Lights... music... who knows.
All it's lacking now is a name. Any suggestions?

Clearly it's a Dance Floor.
~ Scobes

Oh its excellent ! It should be called "The stage"
It will be good for hide and seek :)
~ manylenses
......and henceforth ye shall be known as The Family Cloggs.
~ Scobes

Looks a lovely to place to chill for the forthcoming summer months.
~ queenie
"The Pit"? ..
Nah, too simple..
Hmm... Looks like a good build though.
~ nh

Surely it must be "unstaged", no?
~ monochrome

Unstaged?
Ally says you have far too much talent for your own good.
~ sheilaM

Well done Joe thats a deck and a half.
~ golddust

Wow, brilliant work Joe. That's amazing.
~ TractorFactoryPhotos

Splendiferous! Most impressive - is there no end to your talents, sir?
~ yogini08

Wow! Love it! and the shot.
~ nina54

What about decadence (deck-a-dance)
~ MAiT

It all looks very square and spot-on. Nice job Joe.
Dohdeckatreedone.
(The doh bit is for where you trapped your finger)
(thumb then)
~ mooncoin

By the way. Do you realise that every bloke blipper will be trying to hide this blip from their partners. "See that Joe. Why can't you be more like him? All I want is that shelf fixing? Look at Joe, not only is he world famous and featured in the Sunday Times, but he's built a deck too"
~ MAiT

This is the secret location, isn't it? So deck the stage with blippers.
You are multi-talented aren't you. This is so good, and to incorporate storage too, amazing. You could put friends up for the night under that decking too.
~ TinS

I do hope the hidden wonders are accessed by pressing a button on a remote control unit and making parts of the structure slide elegantly to and fro.
Whatever the name ends up being it should be graffitied onto that wall on the left.
~ wingpig

Where does the man find the time?
Very nice indeed.
~ bri

Where do the chickens go?
~ delphwynd

I'm liking Dohdeckatreedone, but I'll never be able to pronounce that after my third beer run to the shed.
@wingpig - sadly not, it's more a case of sticking a couple of fingers in a hole and pulling. And that wall on the left is suddenly looking much tattier than before. Hmmm...

The Couch

Deck-a-thon was the first thing that popped into my head for a name.
~ anappleaday

And all the men and women merely players...
~ serendipitous
It's a fabulous creation - fine craftsmanship! That is one exciting project :)

'THE BLOGGPOD'

Want that! My man has to try now to build something.
~ Minni

~ Gillipaw

i am speechless!
Decksville, man!
~ amnesia
Just needs an x-large bbq pit
~ sean
Have you replied to one of those "Get a massive deck" emails?
~ Red

My mistake. It wasn't deck at all.
It really is rather splendid, though but.
~ Red

About flaming time
~ kaybee
Brilliant work, a great job, you can come and do me on now Joe :)
~ traceyflowerpot

D'ikea or deckea? Decking meets ikea! I'm sure ikea would approve of your clever use of space.
Just in time for summer. I think the first instalment should definitely be the hidden beer fridge!
~ justjack
Woodfest?
~ dailypost

decking, schmecking. that is, clearly, an unfinished mini ramp. get those transitions on there now!
(nice work)
~ Anonymoose

@Anonymoose - how sad is it that I had exactly the same thought...?
~ Joe

Great deck, and fantastic family portrait. But where's the barbecue and the coolbox with beer?
~ megatonlove

A stage for Uke kids? ...or HKQ? :)
Nice family portrait. I think I know who did all that job... or is it just fake?
~ MissRAble

I think Anonymoose stumbled upon a great name for it there: The Shmeck.
~ David77

I saw the suggestions somewhere up here as well, but my first thought was: Upstage!! ;-)
This is a brilliant piece of work Joe!! 5*'s for your creativity!!
~ LuvU2

and with a few taps in the right direction with a hammer - that streetlight could become your own personal mood lighting
~ Anonymoose

Unstaged part deux...great piece of engineering
~ hebsauntyval

Hmmm. I am looking at this and I suspect you might have had a plan.
My effort is planned in my head. Subject to change without notice.
~ myangle

I spent three years trying to draw plans, MyAngle. In the end I relied on my imagination!
