Alien world

I spotted these strange furry buds on Monday and by Wednesday some of them had opened out to reveal the most stunning big pink flowers with purple middley bits (technical term there). This morning I went to take some photos of the blooms, but this little fly was so kind and posed so well for me that I had to blip him instead :)





edit: after spotting this beautiful shot from 4 Blues and then some..., I now realise this is a poppy! Exactly the same bud :)
