Friday 4 June 2010: Opposites

I've been trying to get Bella's head around opposites for ages. With the help of a clever bathroom tap analogy, she finally sussed it on the way back from Seacliff this afternoon.

Then spent the rest of the journey insisting on being incessantly tested:

"What's the opposite of fast?"

"Slow!"

"What's the opposite of high?"

"Low!"

She was very pleased with herself. I tried to catch her out with "What's the opposite of sweet?"

"Sour!"

How the hell did she know that? And what the hell is going on inside the brain to grasp such an abstract concept so quickly and completely?
