Do you feel lucky?

We took a chance on the weather today. It was pouring rain in Nottingham this morning, but we'd been incarcerated indoors for several days so we headed for the east coast on a wing and a prayer. We guessed right because, although the rain persisted all the way to Grantham, once we hit the road to Boston the skies cleared and a watery sun came through. The weather stayed with us until we set out for home about 3:30 when the rain clouds engulfed us yet again. Lucky or what?

We saw lots of fledglings and young birds today but my favourite was this punk teenager of the meadow pipit world. He just seemed to have so much attitude, a real Clint Eastwood in the making. I would guess he's just a few months old.
