The Thornapple River at Chief Hazy Cloud Park

Hazy Cloud was chief of an Ottawa Indian band located on the Thornapple River in Ada. He was known to be friendly with white people and allegedly signed the shameful 1836 Treaty with Washington (the Treaty "arranged" that various Indian tribes in Michigan cede their lands to the United States; these lands comprised 37% of what is now the State of Michigan). I wonder if he likes his park...

The past lies in shadow, and the path toward the future leads just around the bend.
