Saying goodbye

On a sunny Easter day, the 30th of March in 1997 I was at my job taking care of some work, even if it was a holiday. When I got the job done I decided to chat at one of a popular chat forum at that time. Internet was quite new to me and it was very exciting.

I used a nickname "An adult woman", because I was 43, so I wanted to make clear that I was interested only of a mature discussion. As soon as a logged in I got an answer: " Are you some kind of Paula Koivuniemi?". I laughed at the sharp sense of humor.

Paula Koivuniemi is a Finnish singer who's one of the biggest hits is "Aikuinen nainen" ("An adult woman").

So that was my first contact with Timo. We chatted for quite a while. Then we e-mailed each other. The next day we talked on the phone for four hours. He lived at Tampere, about 200 km from Helsinki, where we lived.

Even without knowing Timo, or seeing him, I was blown away by his charm. He has always had that sharp sense of humor. I have never laughed more with anyone as I have with Timo.

On the 21st of October 2008 we were celebrating our 10 years of marriage. I had made a book and had it printed for him as a tribute to our mutual journey and as an act of love. Here is the cover of the book. The title of the book is "The bunny and the white woman".

The photo on it is the first one ever taken of the two of us. It was in June 1997. It is a photo that Joel took. He was 10 years old at that moment.

This story will continue, when it is time. I will not force anything. I consider this as a part of my process of saying goodbye.

P.S. Same steps here.

The Crying Game

I know all there is to know about the crying game
I've had my share of the crying game

First there are kisses, then there are sighs
And then before you know where you are,
you're saying goodbye
