DNF

Did Not Find.

Probably the wrong day to try out our first bit of high-tech treasure hunting today but there was a feeling of cabin fever setting in that had to be nipped in the bud.

As it had chucked down rain relentlessly all morning as soon as shadows were spotted we headed out (some more reluctantly than others) with a selection of four nearby geocaches within walking distance to choose from. For some unfatheromable* reason, I discovered this type of activity doesn't appeal to sixteen year old females. Just couldn't persuade Heather that it was just like wandering around between various shops looking for that elusive bargain pair of shoes. The fact that it was out in public and people she knew might see her was just too horrific to contemplate.

Anyway, we DNFd our first nanocache even though it only had a D/T (Difficulty/Terrain) rating of 1.5/1.5 (there's a whole new geeky vocabulary used around this pastime too, though the 'GTF' vibe I was getting from this pair isn't an official one) and I lost the will to carry on geocaching about ten minutes after this shot as the sound of whingeing weans and the prospect of more rain wore me down.

Will wait until the weather's better and try this again. Don't think Heather will be joining us somehow.

Thanks to fellow blipfoto member Blipper's Daily for getting us on to this. I think.

PS: On the weather front, it's St. Swithuns Day tomorrow which means that if it rains legend has it we'll have the wet stuff for the next forty days. Might as well pack away the barbecues until 25th August then.
