Sharkie

This is Sharkie, he dives a rebreather rather than open circuit air cylinders. Basically the exhaust gas he breathes out is scrubbed of carbon dioxide and more oxygen added, the gas is then sent round the loop again & "rebreathed". Using a rebreather means you use less gas and can dive for longer at deeper depths.

Sharkie was the only one on the trip with a rebreather, the rest of us were on open circuit air or nitrox.

Sharkie has saved my bacon on a number of occasions, from holding me up on deco stops to catching me when I got whisked away in the current! He's a very reassuring presence on any dive & he's promised me a guided tour of the Exmouth on our next outing together - can't wait!
