Sunday 18 July 2010: Comments
If you're not uploading your own content, you're leaving comments on other people's uploads. Right? If we're not looking for compliments, we're at least looking for comments...
About 6 years ago, there weren't so many sites for user content. Most sites hosted companies' stuff, but not yours. If you wanted your face on the web, you had to set up your own site, learn to build web pages and embed content.
Now you have a plethora of sites that do the layout for you, and determine the purposes and modes of use. And you can comment on anyone's stuff - from the inane to the laudative, through the pejorative and downright rude...
Your internet life is a great big list of comments and commentaries of what you're doing.
What do you think about commenting?

Comments
Commenting is addictive. I say to myself 'I'll just look at blip and leave a few comments' an hour later and I have checked out the blips of the comentators of the blips of the commentators. Or I'll just tweet something only to find there are 200 tweets of others to read and a conversation or two where I just have to but in.
And don't get me started on facebook.
But then again Faceboook began with friends, on Twitter I found friends and the Blipfotos give such joy
