Dust and noise to both sides of us...

Dust and noise to both sides of us this morning, and we were again woken at 7.30 am by the two lorries, two diggers and the heavy rolling machine clanking and crashing about down the lane.

This photo is taken from just in front of our door, although it looks a little closer than it actually is as I've cropped it slightly. The lane winding away in the centre of the photo is in the process of being made three times wider for those juggernauts I mentioned yesterday but, in the process, rows of olive and almond trees will have to be removed and ancient drystone walls demolished. Many mature pine trees have already been sawn down... although if we removed a pine we'd get a hefty fine!

The lane they're working on today is one of our two ways out to the main road, but luckily the men shifted over when we came back here this morning.
