Moonflight

I took the moon last night and a plane the night before. Today I managed to get both in the same shot. (Just managed to resist pasting Ratten on top of the plane.)

This is a view from the Lanark road to the west of Edinburgh on my way home.

They were burning some heather up in the Pentland hills and the plume of smoke was rising like a volcanic eruption and floating right over the city. (they burn it to allow new growth and the new shoots provide food for deer and grouse).

I took a few others of the hill and smoke that looked more like an eruption but then the moon came up and then this plane flew right over it and...and oh - it was too much excitement for one day... phew.
