Garden aliens

Been meaning to take a picture of these plants for a few days now, since removing the rampant rhubarb and revealing what had been quietly growing away under the massive leaves. Don't know what the plant is - think it is some sort of flower that has been in the garden since we moved in, but haven't identified it. Had thought I might take it in sunlight but then decided a night shot using flash looked more appropriate.
This will be my fiftieth blip, although it has taken a little over four months to post them - not even managing one every other day. And having kept meaning to do it, I also managed to miss the closing date for the Unstaged competition, which is annoying.
So I need to do better.
Starting with trying much harder to take at least one picture every day. There's no excuse really, with a smaller alternative camera and even my phone if I haven't got my main camera with me. This first fifty has been mostly a case of blipping pictures I took anyway. I guess I need to take pictures specifically so I have a picture for the day if I am going to improve my hit rate. My friend seaurchin posted a picture this week of her daughter on her eighth birthday and you could link back through four other birthdays, all blipped, to see her growing up. Which was a lovely example of what can happen when you slowly accumulate a blog. Little details that make a story. Like a Carol Shields novel. Beauty in the small details of everyday lives. I love it, and need to take more pictures of my own that inspire such story telling, even if I have a long way to go in the accumulation of a blipped stratigraphy.
