What is art anyways?

My drawing class made me very grumpy today. It got to the point where people actually asked me if I was okay. And this certainly isn't the first time this class has put me in a sour mood..

I spent pretty much my entire day (approx 7.5 hours) listening to people talk about art. Most of the time, I had no clue what people were talking about (partially because I was so bored, I stopped paying attention). As far as I'm concerned, art is about communicating ideas visually. It's even better if the artist(s) are exploring interesting ideas. The problem is art students base their art projects on the most uninteresting things. I honestly wonder if they actually are passionate about their subject or if it's just some BS they came up with to justify what they're doing.


I took another 8-minute exposure in between classes today. I decided to leave it in color this time. A lot of the colors are skewed because of the long exposure, but I think it's interesting.
