Ingunn in Oslo

PEOPLE OF OSLO continues

These two strangers, Jan-Willy "Beer-Mouth" Hamsund (right) and Morten "Flatbread" were on their way to the local pub and wanted me to take a photo of them.

The gentlemen are both members in Norway's most famous and beloved janissary orchester, Kampen Janitsjar. Morten "Flatbread" just got a medal for being a member in the orchester for 40 years, while Jan-Willy Beer-Mouth" is the one that keeps order in the instruments and notes.

They have been friends for ever, both born in Tøyen (east-Oslo), and lived here all their lives. I think that is so exciting. I have lived here the last 13 years, and I love to hear them tell me about this area in their childhood. It must have changed so much!

I got to hear about great trips they have been on with their orchester. Jan-Willy "Beer-Mouth"'s T-shirt will give you a clue. The October-festival usually sounds good to anyone that craves beer ;-))
