Plying the Salish Sea

BC Ferries runs a big boat between Vancouver Island (Victoria) and the mainland (Vancouver) past the Gulf Isalnds (Canada) and the San Juan Islands (USA). The water is becoming known by its new, or at least proposed, name of Salish Sea, to honour the First People of this area. In the US it's currently called Puget Sound.

That's Mt. Baker in the background, a dormant volcano, sister to Mt. St. Helens which blew up about 30 years ago (a real Blip in geological time). It's not impossible for Mt. Baker to kick up a fuss someday (maybe even next December).
