There was one condition to Jimmy's acceptance at having his photograph taken and posted in this online gallery: that it should be used in a campaign against smoking.
I told him that this was a guarantee that I could not give. I explained to Jimmy that I was posting a series of portraits of smokers, without trying to glamourise or condemn their choice. I told him that it was up to each and everyone to form an opinion.
He agreed with the principle and asked me to post his portrait. We had a great chat about the extreme difficulty of giving up smoking. Or giving up on life. I hope you get to read this Jimmy. Take care. And stay away from the rock pools.
