Matapouri

Spent the day on the east coast having romantic walks on secluded beaches with... my camera. Matapouri beach was deserted for the most of the time I was there. Gorgeous golden sand on a crescent shaped beach - idyllic.

Only one moment of worry when a freak gust wind decided to give my camera a sand-bath. (Sally if you are reading this, think back to the moment when Andrew vehemently warned you about being careful with the new camera on the sand, and then you dropped it and it has "grated" ever since - well it felt like that).

My walk was finally interrupted by a family of three arriving 400 yards up the beach - it felt a little crowded and time to move on to the next spot....
