this luminous life.

The Fabyan Windmill, located in a forest preserve along the Fox River in Geneva, is an authentic Dutch windmill dating from the mid-nineteenth century. I came across this windmill while taking a short drive along the river. (I love driving on roads like this - as well as winding country roads.) I also managed to capture a little red in the trees - a last grasp of autumn before the leaves completely fall and trees stand naked. This was a great break from being indoors - now I'm back on the couch with the dogs.

Today marks four years of Blipping!
(I actually wasn't sure if the four-year mark was today or tomorrow,
so I waited until after the picture was published to make sure...)
I'm so proud of [barely] making it this long!

There have been many times I've wanted to stop,
or skip over a desperation Blip because it's not 'good enough',
or disliked my images because they're not as good
as the professionals' images on this site,
or been worried about who may be stalking me,
or haven't had time to sit and update
(sometimes I back blip a month's worth of images),
or felt bad for not being around enough to comment,
or may days are boring,
or a million other reasons....
but I keep doing this.
I know many years from now,
I'm going to look back and be glad I recorded these images,
whether they're five-star blips
or a sock on the floor.
Red camera, I'm almost there!
(Expect more heartfelt thoughts when that time arrives;
I didn't really prepare for today!)
