wasted

computer meltdown nightmare!!

so, I tried to defrag, then stopped the defrag.. then restarted in safe mode and ran a scandisk to make sure I didn't screw anything up.

Apparently I did, because it never started up again. Luckily, with my brother's help, I was able to get most of the vital files off the highly corrupted hard drive. I'd backed up all my music and pictures on an external hard drive before the thing crapped out, so all in all, it could have been much, much worse. The only real drawback was that I spent 6 hours that I should have been studying for my bio exam trying to fix the computer.

Oh well..
