THE BLUE MOSQUE IN OSLO

In my neighborhood you will find the biggest mosque in Oslo. It's big enough for 1500 people. It opened in 1995 and has 6000 sunni members, mostly Pakistanis.

There were big problems with the tiles. The tiles from Pakistan were chep, but not suitable for the Norwegian climate, the Turkish were the best, but too expensive, so the mosque chose the Persian. Norwegian craftmen told the mosque that the tiles would not stand the winter, and after a while the tiles fell down. Now the mosque is repaired with tiles from Spain and is safe again.

It certainly brightens up the street!
